Keningau to Beaufort Via Crocker Range Vedio 1

Heading to Crocker Range, the road is nicely surfaced, clean & with not a single truck in sight this route is a Bikers Wanderland....but the best part are yet to come...

upon reaching the mountain range, the environment started to change, air getting colder, endless corner, thick fog blanketed the road that visibility drop to 60 feet or less, plus sharp down hill turns that require super fast reflex & skill to overcomes......a real live roller coaster ride....

Descending the mountain range is a tricky work...the car ahead beginning to over-heated the braking system started to produced smell of burning brake rotor/disc...

apparently our new riding boots can't withstand this type of weather punishment...all the boots turn into a stinky aquarium... maybe next time should try out the yellow rubber boots...

KK to Keningau Via Tembunan Video 1

After a night of heavy drinking ( an aid for sore body relaxation after the long wet ride) everyone got up late, head for a quick lunch and start planing our route to Keningau, after some discussion with the guys and some direction from a local having coffe at the coffee shop, we decided to take the route via Tembunan to Keningau and from Keningau to Beaufort via Crocker Range, a moutain road we never venture before or even heard of, so we don't know what to expect...just hope we won't get lost and end up in some jungle...

the highest part of this route...we didn't expect this high, we thought it will be 2000ft the most..
there are quite some breath taking scenery along this route and countless of sharp bends & corners but all these curves are not recommend for high speed riding, unless if u want to end up at the bottom of the mountain...

and the other good thing about this route are the road condition is better and cleaner than the Mt. kinabalu route and hardly see any big trucks on it....


Keningau Bike Tour Dec 2009 Pt. 01

got up early for our Kiningau trip which suppose to do it in early Dec, although didn't sleep much the night before but all of us are pretty excited for this..

this time we travel really light, just 4 of us. me, ED, Jason & Mr. I luv U. JW can't make it due to some work relate issue...

Slap on my saddle bag put on my gear and meet up with the rest of the guys at the usual coffee shop..after some strong coffee & some route discussion and we are on the road again.....

as usual smoke whenever we can, even a short Ferry ride across a tiny river....
Pop over to the infamous LIMBANG Bike shop...i don't intend to buy anythings there but just need the place for a smoking Break & Pee...
no matter how rush we are, there is always time for him to shop & this time a pair of SLIDER, and it took an hour to install...there go our precious time.....
Lunch break at Lawas...plus smoking sessions and to relax our butt...
Dark cloud begin to build up after lunch..so everyone decided to put on our rain suit, luckily we came prepare, cause it turn-out to be a 4 hours ride in a monsoon Storm all the way from Lawas till KK....
to keep things light, Mr. I Luv U just travel with a pair of Riding Boots, but after a 4 hours of heavy rain, his boots are flooded with water... so he have no choice but to buy a new pair of shoe for the night..

BUT for for all the shoes in the store, this is what he get, a pair of camouflage CONVERSE..a 50+ uncle wearing CONVERSE, not bad ya..
while waiting for some friends to joint us for dinner...but..

A Ride before 45


An idea popped out during my routine coffee session with my mates 2 days ago..(actually i'm the one who's always came out with all this stupid idea..) we will like to do a ride which will last us to talk about for a long long time...a Long Ride from the west coast to east coast of USA before we turn 45...initially only US..but..my mate propose to ride in New Zealand and later that night JW said ride in Australia..

now we have three destination to cover, so from now on we have to work our ass off to materialize these rides before all of us turn 45...

by the way..Andrew! you're in this as well before u turn 50..if you contributed idea means you have to go as well...


New Year Resolution

time really fly, just a blink of eyes and is end of year again...sat before my laptop with my usual green tea in hand and start thinking what should i do next year beside my usual staff..(make $$ & riding around like a monkey..)

so i have decide next i'll attend more international Bike Fest such as Phuket Bike Week or Bali Bike Fest ( Borneo island International Big Bike Fest not include) ..at least twice a year... hopefully my mates can join me by than...

Tragedy At BIIBBF



It was a sombre festival as deep into the second day of the event, tragedy had struck. A participant of the Borneo Island International Big bike Festival (BIIBBF) from the Labuan Tourism Department had met his demised as the motorcycle that he was a passenger of lost control and hit a tree.

Organisers and participants had mourned for the death of their fellow participant, where although according to those who knew him, he had only started working for the Labuan Tourism office and this biker event was his first assignment covering a biker event. Labuan LA Riders the host and organiser of the BIIBBF this year said that this was regrettable, and it was a sad day for all involved.

The accident occurred when the BIIBBF were in a convoy touring the island of Labuan. According to eyewitness, they viewed that the way he was sitting on the trike (three whelled bike) was very dangerous as instead of facing the front he was facing the back and to make it worse he was kneeling down on the back seat. One biker who had witnessed it all said that the convoy was going very fast, which was not advisable especially when there’s a big convoy and riding on narrow streets of Labuan.

The rider of the trike was looking back whether it was to check on his passanger that was facing the wrong way or to see the convoy it was not certain. What happened next was inevitable, as the rider looked back, he had hit a patch of uneven road. This had caused the trike to lift up on two wheels. The rider who was already veering off the road, had a difficult time to get the bike under control, especially at speed. He had hit the curb and a small mound of construction debris by the side of the road, this had launched the trike in the air.

The rider and his passenger were thrown off the bike. The bike had hit a nearby tree, while the rider had narrowly missed a block of bricks, that was placed at the side of the road. His passenger however was not as lucky, where he had hit the block of brick square on. They were riding about 80km an hour. His fibreglass helmet had split in three places, while he had sustained serious injury. Ultimately he had surrounded to his injuries and perished on site after about 25 minutes struggling for life, before the ambulance had time to arrive.

The unfortunate incident was the first ever recorded death in the history of the BIIBBF. The accident scarred bikers, as well as the BIIBBF event. Most bikers commented that in hindsight organisers should have put more emphasising safety protocols, where an ambulance and safety personal ic would at all time follow the convoy. However the rider’s biking experience on a trike and the seating position of the victim had also shed a light to the possible cause of the accident.

Why was there not an emergency crew with the personal?

Why was a biker inexperinced using a trike allowed to use it?

Why was the passenger not drilled on safety protocals?

Why were the marshals idle in fulfilling their duties?

Let the War Begin

The year 2009 is soon to be end and next year will be a tough year for Brunei motorcycle industry...with the new licensing law & a new motorcycle dealership in town, life ain' be easy for all the bike dealers...so is about time for them to improve the way they handle their business...

Cool..

this definitely will encourage a biker keep washing-up after each ride...

Bike Show At InDoor Stadium

Once again QCB is holding their Bike Show again at the Indoor Stadium Parking lot till this Sunday 20th Dec..

Custom Bike Challenge..

The Bike show also held The 1st QCB Custom Bike Challenge, winning bike will be vote by visitors just like the "Biker Build-Off" but to bad response wasn't that good, not much of people are voting it...

And the other down-side for this Challenge is the number of custom bikes participate..in total less than 10 bikes, maybe is due to the small population of custom bike industry in Brunei...apparently most of the custom bikes that take part are done by SiBoy...
